Tungsten carbide is a material that combines toughness and a high melting point, making it an ideal material for a variety of uses. Where there's a demand for wear-resistant materials, Because of that, tungsten carbide coating is primarily used for industrial purposes.it can be used for drilling, digging mines, or even used for cutting fiberglass to be used in building boats. These are industry's that demand tough tools that don't bend or break or wear easily  characteristics that tungsten carbide possesses.

It also has a variety of domestic and civilian uses. The heavy industry sector uses it: because it is tough, and resistant to wear.

About Industrial Services

Industrial Services is located in Silicon City of India, Bangalore. Industrial Services is established in the early 1988s. This is why Industrial Services have been so successful for past 20 years. Industrial Services customers know that they can come to us with any engineering problem and we will either solve it.

Important Information About The Process

Where the impregnating and the re-sharpening surfaces are one and the same, the tool is to be impregnated after every resharpening e.g gearhobs, gear shaper cutters, taps etc. impregnate of about 15 to 20 mm width along the cutting edge is quite sufficient. Where the impregnating and re-sharpening surfaces are different, the entire working length of the cutting edge of the tools may be impregnated e.g. drills, side and face cutters, etc in this case it is better to impregnated before re-sharpening.

There is no dimensional variation as impregnation is done on the rake side of the cutting edge. Impregnated surface may appear to be rough or matter. But this will not have any adverse effect on the cutting ability or the surface finish of the end product. This matter surface helps to retain a thin lubrication- film which is normally squeezed away from three polished surface of un-impregnated tools and parts under high pressure, thus causing metal to metal contact resulting in cold welding. this process is more economical and simple for roughening the surface of certain mould instead of using shot- blasting process. Padial wear of a total especially of a boring tool is one of the many factors responsible for dimensional inaccuracies of components furnished by fine operation. This wear or limited by Carbide impregnation, thus relating the desired tolerance without resetting or regrinding the tool.

In deep drawing dies, scoring and wrinkling due to uneven press pad pressure can be reduced by impregnating the pressure pads and drawing radial. Burrs caused by excessive clearance in press tools can be corrected by disposition. Carbide impregnation can be done not only on HSS but also HCHCr. OHNS and other variety of steels. TCI coating can be done on die casting discs and brake lining dies. Build up material for 5 microns to 100 microns. For dies, after coating you can also do the polish, to get high polishe, the Micro Vicker hardness is 800 to 1050 microns.

All types of dies and punches can be treated with the carbides impregnation on the face along the die opening and then slightly lapped to restore the sharpness of the cutting edge. the inside area of die opening unto a depth of 15 to 50 mm long. the top may also be impregnated to prevent slug lifting. In deep drawing dies, scoring and wrinkling due to uneven press pad pressure can be reduced by impregnating the pressure pads and drawing radii. Burrs caused by excessive clearance in press tools can be corrected by disposition.
